2025 Belt& Roadand BRICSCompetition of Skills Developmentand Technology   Innovation----Arc   Cup   International   Welding   Competition (Hereinafter referred to as 2025 Arc Cup International Welding Competitionor Competition)will be held  from  September  5th-10th  in Weifang  City, Shandong Province,China,as an associate event of IIW Activities 2025. The Competition aims to establish an international professionals exchanging platform  for  skills  development  and  technology  innovation  in  welding,promote the welding skills development and technical exchanges,and speed up the cultivation of welding skills professionals so as to enhance welding technical skills level together. Hereby the related matters are asfollows:

I.  CompetitionProjects

1.  TheNinthInternationalWeldingTechnologyCompetition

(New  Welding  Technology,  Welding  Equipment,  Welding  Material,Welding Process and TheirApplication Competition.)

(Welding Robots Programming, Operation and Maintenance)

II.  CompetitorRequirement

1.  TheNinthInternationalWeldingTechnologyCompetition

Undergraduates,highervocationalandsecondaryvocationalstudents(including  postgraduates);  teachers   from  colleges   and  universities,   and

researchers from scientific research organizations; welding engineering technicians; welders and relevant management staff, etc.

2.  TheTwelfthInternationalWeldingRobotsCompetition

Competitors should be qualified welding robot operators.

3.  TheThirteenthInternationalWeldingSkillsCompetition

Welders with age between18-35 years old andStudents over theage of16.

4.  TheFourthVirtualSimulationWeldingCompetition

There  is  no   age   limits   for   competitors.   Students,   teachers   and employeesofenterprisescanparticipateintheCompetition.

III.  AssessmentStandards & RankingMethod

1.AssessmentStandards

JudgesfromChinaandothercountriesshall makeassessment together toguaranteethefairnessandjusticeoftherefereeingactivitiesaccordingto international recognized standards and rules.

(1)  The Ninth International Welding Technology Competition

This    competition   requires    competitors    to    submit    competitiondocumentsforexpertassessmentand makedefense viaonline.Competitors

shouldsubmitdocumentsbyoneofthefollowingways:

PapersandpresentationPPTrelatedtoNewWeldingTechnique/NewEquipment/New Material/New Technology;

Drawings  +  project  photos  +  process   description  related  to  NewWelding  Technique/New  Equipment/New  Material/New  Technology  andpresentationPPT.

(2)  The Twelfth International Welding Robots Competition

This   competition    follows   ISO9606    international    standards   andregulations.

(3)  The Thirteenth International Welding Skills Competition

For   this   competition,    Chinese   and   foreign   judges    shall   makeassessmenttogetherbasedonISO9606internationalstandardsandrulesto guaranteethefairnessandjusticeoftherefereeingandassessment.

(4)  The Fourth Virtual Simulation Welding Competition

ThecompetitionisconductedbyAugmentedreality(AR)simulator.TheevaluationandacceptanceshallrefertoISO6947,ISO15608,etc.,and the score will be analyzed and generated bysimulator.

Evaluationindicatorsinclude:correctlysetwelding parameters,adjusttheairpressureof weldingcylinders,adjustthecurrentandvoltage,adjust the  best  welding  posture,  control  the  stability  of  vertical   angle  and horizontal  angle,  moving  speed  and  distance  between  welding  gun  andweldingline.Ensurethattheweldwidth,widthdifference,height,heightdifference,weldingline’slength,backpenetrationandplugholeweldingscar  diameter,  diameter  difference,  height,  back  penetration   and   other

indicators  ofbutt  welding  meet  the  requirements,  and  there  will  be  no penetration defects.

2.RankingMethod

(1)  Group Award:Thisawardisgrantedtoteamsaccordingtototalteamscores.Thetotalscoresof eachteamarecalculatedbyaddingupthescoresofeachteam’s3bestindividualcompetitorsinsinglecompetitionproject.Theteamswithlessthan3competitorscannotberankedinGroupAward.

(2)  Individual  Award:  The  best  competitor  in  single  competitionproject in each country (or delegation) can be rankedin IndividualAward.

(3)  Young   Competitors   Award:    Young   competitors    under   25(included) years old can be ranked in the Young CompetitorAward.

(4)  StudentCompetitors Award:Studentcompetitorsof eachschoolcan be ranked in the Student CompetitorAward.

IV.  RecognitionandAwards

1.  GroupAwards

GroupAwardsaregrantedtoteams.TheteamswillbehonoredwithCups or Certificates.

2.IndividualAwards

(1)  For  the  Ninth   International  Welding   Technology  Competition,therewill  set  the  First,  the  Second  and  the  Third  Prize,  which  will  be awardedtoindividualsbasedondifferentgroups, whichmaycover60%of the competitors.And these winners will be awarded the honor certificates.

(2)  For  the  Thirteenth  International  Welding  Skills  Competition,Twelfth  International  Welding  Robots  Competition  and  Fourth  VirtualSimulation   Welding    Competition,   there    are   totally    nine    individualcompetition  projects  according  to  different  welding  process.  The  First,Second and Third Prize will beawardedfor eachproject,andtherearefirst,secondandthirdplacefortheFirstPrize.TheFirstPrizewinnerswillbeawardedcertificatesandmedals.TheSecondandThirdPrizewinnerswill be awarded certificates.

(3)Theinstructor/trainerof thefirst-prizeteamswillbeawardedtheOutstanding  Instructor/Trainer  Certificate,  and  the  instructor/trainer  of second    and    third    prize    teams     will    be    awarded    the    ExcellentInstructor/Trainer Certificate.

(4)All  competitorshavethe  equal  chancetowinthe  certificate  of“ExcellentPrize” of2025ArcCupInternationalWeldingCompetition.

3.  YoungCompetitorsAward

Youngcompetitors under25(included)yearsoldcanberankedintheYoung CompetitorAward.

4.Student CompetitorsAward

Student  competitors  of  each  school  can  be  ranked  in  the  StudentCompetitorAward.

V.  PriorityforInternationalParticipants

1.  Thereare noany registrationfeesfor internationalcompetitors whosubmit their application forms.

2.  “National  Winner”  who  won  the  First  Place  in  their  nationalweldingcompetitionin2024or2025willbegivenreimbursementforoneround-tripflightticketandbeprovidedwithfreeaccommodationbythe OrganizingCommitteeduringthecompetition.ThenumberoftheNational WinnerintheFirstPlacewhocanenjoythispriorityisnomorethan  1.(Note:Theround-tripflightshouldbelimitedtotheEconomy-classseatbased   on   the   normal   situation   (The   Organizing   Committee   willcommunicate    in    advance     the    maximum    reimbursable     price    forEconomy-classtickets.).Incaseof anyspecialsituation,pleasecoordinatewith Chinese organizer.)

3.  Top  three  winners  in  their  national  welding  competition  will  be provided with free accommodation by the OrganizingCommitteeduring the competition. Thenumberofthecompetitorsinacountrywhocanenjoythe above two priorities is no more than 4.

4.  Oneteam  leaderinacountrycanenjoythefreeaccommodationduring the competition.
